We played a small-pot hand like a stack-off; once we overplay turn and ignore how underbluffed NL200 river check-raises are, we torch a buy-in with a marginal two pair.
Betting is fine, but with second pair and deep stacks we should either check more or size up when we do bet; the tiny stab wastes our equity without denying much.
Note: Using a very small size with a medium-strength hand on a wet, low board is worse than checking or betting bigger; we neither protect nor set up good value.
Calling the small check-raise with second pair is correct; we’re ahead often enough and have great price with position and deep stacks.
Once we improve to top two after getting raised flop, betting big is too ambitious; range prefers a lot of checking or small bets, letting SB continue with dominated hands and bluffs instead of polarizing ourselves.

After calling a flop raise and turn check-raise, we should strongly prefer checking back river; our hand has good showdown but is not clear value versus a range that is already very strong.
Note: Turning top two into a river value bet versus a line that’s mostly nutted gives villain a cheap chance to shove better hands and folds out the weaker part of their range that we beat at showdown.
River call versus the huge check-raise is a clear fold; our top two is just a bluff-catcher against a range that is almost entirely straights, sets, and better two pair, and NL200 players underbluff this node hard.
Note: Calling off to a massive river check-raise with a non-nut two pair after facing flop and turn aggression is a serious punt; we are far too low in our range for this price.
