Folding is the preferred play here. Despite the excellent price, our hand is essentially air with very few clean ways to improve against a range that heavily features top pairs and middle pocket pairs. **Ranges:** UTG's range is concentrated in Kx hands like K8s and pocket pairs like QQ-88, which have us crushed. We sit at the bottom of our range here, lacking even the gutshot draws that hands like T9s or 98s possess. **Math:** We only need 16% equity to call, but our raw equity is barely 21% against a range that will frequently barrel turns. Calling with pure Queen-high without backdoor draws often leads to losing more chips on later streets when we are forced to fold anyway. **Blockers:** Holding the Tc is actually slightly negative as it blocks some of the straight draws Villain might be bluffing with, such as T9s or Tc8c. --- > **Takeaway:** Don't feel forced to call just because the price is good; if your hand is at the bottom of your range and lacks draws, folding is often the highest EV play.
