Betting small is a viable semi-bluff, but checking back is equally valid to realize equity for free. The 6♠ is a very dynamic card that completes both flushes and straights like 87 or 43.
Note: While betting isn't a massive error, checking back is often preferred to avoid getting blown off our equity by a check-raise on such a wet board.
Folding here is a significant mistake. Despite the scary board, we are getting excellent pot odds and hold a Jack-high flush draw that still has roughly 28% equity against Villain's range.
