Flop Analysis
Checking is mandatory on this Ace-high texture. Our underpair has very little equity and functions best as a check-fold or a very occasional bluff-catcher on later streets.
We turned a low-equity underpair into a massive bluff on the flop and turn, only to be saved by a two-outer on the river.

Raising here is a significant theoretical error. We are turning a hand with almost no equity and no draws into a pure bluff against a range that contains many better pairs.
Note: Check-raising an underpair with no draws is an overplay; this hand should be a pure fold vs. a flop bet on an Ace-high board.
Doubling down with a pot-sized bet is extremely risky. We have less than 4% equity, and the board has become even more favorable for the Button's calling range.
Note: Barreling pot on a King turn is a massive over-bluff; we have virtually no equity and the Button is unlikely to fold Ax or better.
The river 4d is a total miracle, giving us a set. After our aggressive line, we are perfectly polarized, and an all-in shove is the best way to extract value from the Button's bluff-catchers.
