Check back vulnerable overpairs on monotone boards to control the pot, and never shove into a check-raise that is heavily weighted toward made flushes.
Checking is the preferred play with our specific combo. While we have an overpair, we lack a spade, making our hand extremely vulnerable to any further aggression or bad runouts.
Note: Betting is acceptable but checking is higher EV; without a spade, we cannot comfortably call a check-raise or barrel most turns.
Shoving here is a massive overplay. When HJ check-raises on this texture, they are representing a range that has us crushed, and we have zero chance of improving to a flush.
Note: Jamming into a check-raise on a monotone board with a non-spade overpair is a significant error; we are only called by hands that beat us.
