Folding here is a significant mistake. We have overcards, a backdoor spade draw, and the Js blocks some of SB's value-heavy spade combos while unblocking their air bluffs. **Math:** We are getting 2.6:1 on a call, requiring only ~28% equity. With 51% equity against SB's range, we are comfortably ahead of the threshold needed to continue. **Ranges:** SB will be betting this board frequently with their entire range. By folding AJo, we are over-folding the bottom of our continuing range and allowing SB to print money with any two cards. **Plan:** We have excellent playability on many turns. Any A, J, or spade allows us to continue or even take the lead, and we can often take the pot away on later streets if SB checks. --- > **Takeaway:** Don't over-fold high-equity overcards with backdoor draws; they are mandatory continues against wide small-blind ranges.
Note: Folding A-high with a backdoor flush draw is too tight; you have enough equity and position to float at least one street.
