Shoving is a significant overplay. While we have top pair, jamming for over 1x pot forces Villain to play perfectly, folding out their air and only calling with hands that crush us or have massive equity.
Note: Shoving is too polar; a medium sizing (50% pot) extracts value from draws and weaker pairs while keeping the pot manageable.
