Checking is the preferred play; betting here turns a hand with decent showdown value into a low-equity bluff on a card that completes flushes. **Board:** The 3s is a significant card as it completes the front-door flush. Since we do not hold a spade, we have zero protection against Villain's flush range and our hand is now a pure bluff-catcher. **Ranges:** Villain's range is condensed after calling preflop and checking twice, but it still contains many 9x, small pairs, and now completed flushes. By betting, we fold out their air while getting called by everything that beats us. --- > **Takeaway:** When the flush completes and you hold a weak underpair without a blocker, prioritize checking to reach showdown cheaply.
Note: Betting is unnecessary here; checking allows us to realize our equity and keep the pot small with a marginal hand.
