Flop Analysis
Betting small is a viable mixed strategy. We have a range advantage and the 7s provides a backdoor flush draw, allowing us to continue on many turn cards.
While we rivered a flush, the turn check-raise was a massive overplay with just a draw on a board that favors the caller's range.

The Ace of spades is a dynamic card that improves both ranges. Checking is mandatory here as we now have a flush draw but face an uncapped opponent range.
Check-raising here is a significant error. We have a weak flush draw with no showdown value, and we are bloating the pot against a range that contains many made flushes and straights. **Ranges:** BB's calling range on the flop is condensed, but the turn As completes many of their draws (KsXs, KTs). By raising, we isolate ourselves against the top of their range while folding out their bluffs. **Math:** We are getting 2.9:1 to call, which is a much better realization of our ~19% equity. Raising creates an SPR of less than 1, essentially committing us to a low-equity shove on most rivers. --- > **Takeaway:** Don't turn high-equity draws into over-played bluffs when the board texture heavily favors the opponent's continuing range.
Note: The turn check-raise is way too aggressive; with a weak flush draw, we should call to realize equity or fold if the price is too high.
We rivered the flush, making this a mandatory value bet. Given the tiny SPR remaining, moving all-in is the only logical way to target their remaining straights or worse flushes. **Board:** The 4-flush board is extremely scary. While we have the 7s, any single spade higher than a 7 (which is most of them) beats us, making this a thin value shove in theory. **Sizing:** With only 14.5BB left into a 51BB pot, we are priced in to bet. We need to be called by a worse hand (like a straight with the Ks or a lower spade) to make this profitable. --- > **Takeaway:** On 4-flush boards with a low flush, bet small or shove low SPRs to target 'curiosity' calls from straights.
