We played the big parts well but left value on the turn by slowing down with a monster in a bloated pot.
Flop Analysis
Multiway on this paired, top-heavy board we have a huge range and nut advantage, and with trips we should almost always c-bet for value; betting ~45% pot is a good, efficient size that keeps worse queens and pocket pairs in while not overinflating the pot.
Turn Analysis
Once we improve to a full house and the pot is already heads-up with an SPR just over 3, checking gives away EV; we want to keep betting ourselves to build the pot and avoid giving free cards to hands that would happily call.
Note: Checking the turn with a full house at medium SPR misses a clean value bet versus Qx, Jx and pocket pairs that are almost never folding.
Turn Analysis
Facing a very small probe after we check, raising for value is correct; however, we can comfortably size up the raise with a full house because villain’s continuing range (Qx, Jx, overpairs) is strong and inelastic to this sizing decision.
Note: Raising is good, but making it only 16BB over a tiny stab undercharges strong bluff-catchers; a larger raise size prints more while still getting called often.
River Analysis
With SPR under 1 and a full house on a board where no straights or flushes complete, jamming is exactly what we want — villain is heavily weighted toward strong one-pair and trips-type hands that are more than strong enough to call off.
