Flop Analysis
Checking our entire range is the standard play as the caller out of position.
We defended a weak suited connector and navigated a multi-street bluff-catch with bottom pair on a dynamic board.

Calling is mandatory here. We have bottom pair and a backdoor flush draw, and HJ's large sizing (1.7x pot) actually allows us to continue with our best bluff-catchers.
Checking is correct. The board is becoming very connected, and while we have improved to a pair of 6s (now third pair), we must remain in pot-control mode.
This is a very close decision between calling and folding. We are purely bluff-catching against missed spade draws and overcards like AQ/AJ.
Checking is the only option on this river. The King of spades is a terrible card for us as it completes the flush and hits the HJ's overcard range. HJ checking back suggests they were likely on a draw that missed or a medium-strength hand that didn't want to value bet into a potentially completed flush. HJ wins with a better pair or high card.
