Flop Analysis
Checking is the only viable option here. We lack the range advantage to lead, and our hand is a pure bluff-catcher that needs to see a turn cheaply.
Defend QJo preflop but fold quickly when the flop misses and Villain applies heavy pressure.

Folding is the correct play against this large sizing. While we have overcards and a backdoor flush draw, we are significantly behind UTG's polarized range. **Ranges:** UTG's 1.3x pot overbet is highly polarized, containing strong overpairs (AA-JJ), sets (99, 66, 44), and high-equity bluffs like AsKx or flush draws. Our Q-high has almost no equity against the value and is flipping at best against the bluffs. **Math:** We need 36% equity to call, but we only have roughly 23.5% against a standard UTG continuation range. Calling here would be a massive leak as we will struggle to realize our equity out of position on most turns. **Sizing:** The large sizing from UTG maximizes their fold equity and punishes our capped range. By folding, we refuse to pay a premium price to chase marginal overcards. --- > **Takeaway:** Don't feel obligated to peel with overcards against overbets; when the math doesn't work, just let it go.
