Flop Analysis
Checking is a solid choice with our specific air. While we have a range advantage on this King-high texture, 97o has very little equity and functions well as a check-fold or a delayed bluff.
We correctly checked down air and then extracted thin value once we improved to a pair on the river.

Checking again is the most consistent play. The board is becoming more coordinated with a heart draw, and since we have no draw ourselves, we shouldn't start bloating the pot with high card only.
Betting small is the correct play after improving to a pair. Since the BB checked back twice, their range is capped at weak pairs and high cards that we now beat and can get value from. **Ranges:** BB is capped because they didn't bet the flop or turn; they would likely bet Kx or Jx for protection or value. Our 7x is now ahead of their missed straight draws and lower pairs like 4x or 6x. **Sizing:** The small 33% pot sizing is perfect here. It targets their 'auto-calls' like Ace-high or small pocket pairs that can't fold to a tiny bet but would fold to a large one. --- > **Takeaway:** When the action goes check-check to the river and you improve to a marginal pair, bet small to extract value from a capped opponent.
