Line is solid and value-focused; the only tweaks are checking turn more and sizing river a bit larger with our strong but non-nut hand.
Flop Analysis
Checking range and checking top pair here is excellent — this texture and SPR favor a check-heavy strategy, and K7 is a classic check-call / check-decide hand rather than a pure value bet.
**Ranges:** As the preflop raiser we have more strong Kx (AK, KQ, KJ, some KK/AA) than BB, but BB has plenty of 4x/2x, suited connectors, and diamond combos that interact with the board. Top pair with weak kicker sits in the middle of our value region, not in the nutted tier.
**Board:** The two-tone, low-connected K-high texture plus very deep SPR makes the pot highly multi-street; c-betting too much with marginal Kx bloats the pot against hands that have good equity and position.
---
> **Takeaway:** On deep, semi-wet K-high boards OOP, protect our checking range by checking a lot of top pair, especially with weaker kickers.
Turn Analysis
Turn is where we deviate: solver mostly continues to check this exact hand and, when it does bet, uses the smaller sizing than we chose; betting is fine as a mix, but our sizing is a bit too big.
**Ranges:** After flop checks, BB still has many Jx, Kx, pocket pairs, and some slow-played strong hands; our top pair is ahead of a lot of that but far from invulnerable and does not want to build a huge pot OOP at this SPR. With K7 specifically, we’re in the mid-strength value region the solver prefers to keep in the checking line most of the time.
**Sizing:** When this hand does bet, the solver uses about 30% pot as a thin value/protection stab. Our ~63% pot sizing pushes us toward a more polar story, which is slightly awkward with a marginal top pair that does not want big raises and does not crush BB’s continuing range.
---
> **Takeaway:** With marginal top pair OOP on deep stacks, prefer a check or a small stab — bigger turn bets should come from more polarized parts of our range.
Note: Turn should mostly be a check with this exact combo, and if we do bet, a smaller ~30% pot sizing is preferred; our bigger bet slightly overplays a marginal top pair.
River Analysis
River bet is completely correct with our hand — it’s a clear value bet on the paired board — but we want a bit larger sizing to maximize value versus bluff-catchers.
**Ranges:** Once BB calls turn on this runout, they show up with a lot of Kx, Jx, pocket pairs (QQ–55), and some slow-played monsters. Our K7 makes two pair and sits near the top of our non-boat value range: ahead of all worse Kx and pocket pairs, behind Jx and full houses.
**Sizing:** Solver wants us to bet this hand almost always and prefers around two-thirds pot; our slightly smaller ~54% pot bet leaves money on the table versus the bluff-catching portion of BB’s range (weaker Kx, QQ–55) that will still call a bigger, clear value sizing.
---
> **Takeaway:** When we improve to strong but non-nut value on a paired river and ranges are polarized, lean into a solid two-thirds-pot sizing rather than a cautious half-pot block.
Note: Bet is mandatory and good, but sizing should be around two-thirds pot rather than a little over half-pot to extract more value from worse Kx and pocket pairs.
