Calling is the preferred play here. While we only have Ace-high, our gutshot and overcard provide enough equity to continue against a large sizing. **Ranges:** CO has a significant advantage on K-J-x, but they will also be betting many air combos like AQo, QTs, and smaller suited connectors that we currently beat. **Math:** We need roughly 36% equity to call. With our gutshot (4 outs) and the Ace potentially being clean, we have enough backdoor and direct equity to realize our share of the pot. --- > **Takeaway:** Don't over-fold broadway gutshots on the flop, especially when your Ace-high still holds significant showdown value against the opponent's bluffs.
The paired Jack is a fantastic card for our range, allowing us to lead out (donk bet) frequently to capitalize on our nut advantage. **Ranges:** We have more Jacks in our calling range (AJ, KJ, QJ, JT) than CO, who would often check back those hands on the flop. This gives us a massive equity lead (62%). **Sizing:** A small 33% pot lead is ideal. It puts CO's weak Kx and pocket pairs in a tough spot while allowing us to semi-bluff our gutshots and flush draws at a high frequency. --- > **Takeaway:** When the board pairs the middle card after the aggressor bets the flop, look for opportunities to lead out and pressure their capped range.
