Preflop and river construction are the leaks: we overdefend QJs OOP vs a 3-bet and then turn a great flush into a thin river value bet on a four-flush board versus a polarized range.

Flop Analysis

Checking with our nut flush draw after preflop action is exactly right; we protect our range and realize equity without inflating the pot at high SPR.

Turn Analysis

Once we turn the queen-high flush, leading can make sense, but range strategy prefers more checking; if we do bet, it should come from a clear sizing plan rather than a middling 2/3-pot stab. **Ranges:** Our range now has many strong hands (flushes, sets, some overpairs with a heart), but CO still has all the nut flushes and strong overpairs with a heart; range strategy therefore mixes bet/check, not pure bet. **Sizing:** Solver range prefers either checks or polarized overbets here; 10 into 15 is a middling size that neither maximally punishes one-heart hands nor cleanly protects our checking range. **Plan:** Checking keeps CO’s range wider and lets us check-call multiple streets with a strong but non-nut flush, avoiding building a huge pot OOP where CO can apply pressure with AhX and other higher flushes. --- > **Takeaway:** With strong but non-nut flushes OOP at deep SPR, lean toward checking or using clearly polarized sizes rather than medium bets that bloat the pot without a clear plan.

Note: Betting turn is defensible, but using a middling size with a strong non-nut flush in a spot where range prefers more checking is a construction/sizing inaccuracy.

River Analysis

On the four-heart river, our queen-high flush is strong but no longer a comfortable value bet; range strategy prefers checking and using smaller bets when we do bet. **Board:** The fourth heart massively compresses value ranges; almost any hand that continues versus a river bet has a heart, and many have the ace or king of hearts, so our second-best flush is not far ahead of CO’s continue range. **Ranges:** After we bet turn and get called, CO’s range is polarized: strong hearts (including AhX, KhX) and some bluffs. Leading 19 into 35 targets very few worse hands and mostly isolates us against better flushes and the occasional slow-play. **Sizing:** Range strategy prefers checking most of the time and, when betting, favors a smaller size (~35–40% pot) so that worse one-heart hands and some bluff-catchers can continue; 19BB is too large and pushes the node toward value-owning ourselves. --- > **Takeaway:** On four-flush rivers, even strong flushes often belong in a check or small-bet range—betting big mainly gets action from better flushes.

Note: Betting big with queen-high flush on a four-heart river overvalues the hand versus a polarized, heart-heavy range; checking or betting smaller has higher EV.

River Analysis

Facing the massive raise over our river bet, folding is correct; despite good pot odds, CO’s range is extremely value-heavy in theory and even more so in practice at NL200. **Ranges:** After we bet river and CO responds with a huge raise at shallow SPR, their range is highly polarized toward nut or near-nut flushes and occasional straights; bluffs exist but are a small part of the population range in this line. **Math:** We are getting ~3.1:1 and need ~24% equity, but versus a realistic value-heavy raising range on a four-heart board, our queen-high flush does not reach that threshold often enough; range-level strategy folds most of its betting range here. **Blockers:** Holding QhJh blocks some of CO’s natural bluff candidates (QhX, JhX with no made flush), while not blocking the key value combos with Ah or Kh, which further shifts the raise range toward value. --- > **Takeaway:** Against huge river raises on four-flush boards, even strong flushes are often folds—population is underbluffing these spots heavily at NL200.

Note: Folding second-nut flush versus an enormous river raise is tight but reasonable; the main mistake was betting this river big in the first place, not the fold.
