While calling is acceptable, raising is the preferred strategy to maximize value and deny equity on a dry board where we hold a significant advantage. **Ranges:** Our KTo is at the top of our defending range. UTG+1 has many overcards like QJ, KQ, and AJ that have significant equity against us; raising forces them to either fold or pay to realize that equity. **Sizing:** A raise to roughly 3.6BB (about 50% of the pot) is ideal here. It keeps the SPR low and allows us to comfortably commit on most turns. --- > **Takeaway:** On dry, low-textured boards at <30BB, lean toward raising your strongest top pairs to simplify the hand and maximize protection.

Folding here is a significant mistake. Despite the Ace being a 'scary' card, we have more than enough equity to continue against a wide betting range. **Math:** We need approximately 28.5% equity to call this 6BB bet. With second pair and a King kicker, we actually hold over 50% equity against a range that includes broadway bluffs (KQ, KJ, QJ) and new diamond draws. **Blockers:** Holding the T♣ is beneficial as it blocks Villain's value hands like ATs and KTs, while we unblock the air and draws they are likely to semi-bluff with. --- > **Takeaway:** Don't let a single overcard scare you into over-folding strong pairs when you still have the equity to beat a wide range of bluffs.
