Flop Analysis
Checking is the standard play on monotone boards multiway. We lack a nut advantage here, so we check to protect our range and realize equity with our pair and flush draw.
Folding a pair plus a flush draw when getting 3:1 odds is a massive mistake, especially with such a low SPR.

This is a mandatory call. We have a middle pair and the 9h, giving us massive equity against the BU's betting range, and the price is far too good to pass up. **Math:** We are getting 3:1 on a call, meaning we only need ~25% equity to continue. Our hand actually has ~67% equity against a typical BU range here, making this fold a significant EV loss. **Board:** The monotone texture is intimidating, but the low SPR (under 1.0) means we are essentially committed to seeing the rest of the board. We have 9 clean outs to a flush and 2 outs to a set, plus our pair is currently ahead of all bluffs. **Plan:** By calling, we keep the pot manageable and allow ourselves to hit our redraws. If the turn is a heart or a nine, we are in a perfect position to get the rest of the chips in. --- > **Takeaway:** In low SPR pots, never fold a pair combined with a flush draw when facing a standard-sized bet.
Note: Folding a pair plus a flush draw with an SPR under 1.0 is a massive error; you have far too much equity to give up for this price.
