With the nut diamond and overcard on a monotone, connected board in a limped pot, betting is typically better than checking — we have huge equity and strong fold equity against random one-pair hands. **Ranges:** UTG/CO limped and then checked, so they show a lot of weak Jx, underpairs, random 8x/7x and air; our preflop raise gives us more strong overpairs, better Jx and all the strong diamond combos like A♠dKx/AdQx/AdTx. **Board:** Three low/mid diamonds plus straight possibilities concentrate equity in hands with a diamond or made straights; our Ad has excellent equity against single-diamond pairs and dominates many worse draws. **Plan:** Betting now lets us win immediately vs folds, build a pot for when we improve to the nut flush, and define ranges; if called once, we can barrel good turns or realize equity on checks. --- > **Takeaway:** On wet monotone boards multiway, don’t passively check back the nut draw plus overcard — bet to leverage your equity and fold out dominated hands.
Note: Checking back gives up a very profitable semi-bluff/value opportunity with the nut flush draw and overcard versus two wide, capped limped ranges.
