Small c-bet is a good use of position: we apply pressure on a scary texture while holding very strong equity and excellent playability versus a check-raise. **Ranges:** After UTG opens and flats the 3-bet, both ranges are strong, but we retain more top-heavy overpairs and big broadway, while UTG has more middling pairs and suited broadway that struggle versus pressure. **Board:** This texture is extremely threatening for one-pair hands and non-diamond holdings; UTG must already fold a fair number of hands with poor equity or bad realization into future aggression. **Blockers:** Our A♠Q♠ has no diamond, so we don't block UTG's diamond continues, which increases fold equity when we bet while still having a strong straight-draw plus overcard type hand when called. **Plan:** Versus a call, we can continue barreling on many overcard and improving turns, and comfortably give up on runouts where our equity and fold equity both collapse. --- > **Takeaway:** In 3-bet pots on very threatening boards, use small c-bets with your strong draws and no-key-suit holdings to generate folds now while keeping a robust plan for later streets.
