While we hit a straight, the river flush completion and a massive multiway cold-jam turn our hand into a mandatory fold.

Flop Analysis

Checking is the standard play here. With an open-ended straight draw in a multiway pot, we want to realize our equity cheaply rather than bloating the pot out of position against two players.

Turn Analysis

We hit our straight, but checking remains a strong option to trap. Since the flop checked through, BU's range is capped, and checking allows them to potentially bluff or catch a second-best hand on the river. **Ranges:** Our range has a significant advantage here as we have all the straights (KT, 8T) that BU might have checked back on the flop. By checking, we protect our entire range and keep BU's air in the pot. **Plan:** If someone bets, we are looking to check-raise to build the pot. Since it checks through again, the pot remains small, which makes the river texture even more critical. --- > **Takeaway:** In multiway pots, checking the nuts on the turn can be a high-EV trap when the preflop aggressor is likely to have missed the flop.

River Analysis

The river is a disaster card. While it gives us the Broadway straight, it also completes the flush. Our raise over BU's probe is fine, but calling the 97BB cold-jam from the BB is a massive error. **Ranges:** BB’s line is extremely narrow. After checking three times, cold-shoving over a bet and a raise into a 15BB pot represents pure nuts—specifically flushes. They have no reason to bluff here into two players who have both shown interest in the pot. **Math:** We are essentially calling 88BB to win a pot that is now heavily skewed toward BB's flushes. Even if we chop with other KT combos, the frequency of flushes in BB's 'check-check-check-shove' line makes this a losing call. **Blockers:** We hold the Th, which is a poor blocker. We don't block the Kh or Qh, which are the primary components of the flushes BB is showing up with here. --- > **Takeaway:** When a player who has been passive suddenly cold-shoves over multiple aggressors on a flush-completing river, believe them—even with a straight.

Note: Calling a 100BB cold-jam on a flush-completing river with a non-nut straight is a massive over-call; BB is never bluffing here.
