Open AQ, don’t flat 3-bets OOP lightly, and when you stab after flop checks through, size up aggressively or keep checking.

Flop Analysis

Checking range here is correct; with only a gutshot and no pair or flush draw, this combo is a pure check and fits well into a check-heavy strategy OOP. **Ranges:** BU retains a slight nut and value density advantage with overpairs, strong Jx, and sets, while our hand is in the lower-middle of our range and mostly wants to realize equity. **Board:** The semi-wet, connected texture already favors the 3-bettor’s strong overpairs and top-pair holdings; stabbing with our weak draw just bloats the pot against a range that can comfortably continue. --- > **Takeaway:** On dynamic 3-bet textures where villain has the nut edge, let weak draws check and realize rather than donk-stabbing OOP.

Turn Analysis

After BU checks back flop, leading is a good idea with this gutshot, but our sizing should be much larger or we should continue to check; half-pot is the worst of both worlds. **Ranges:** BU’s flop checkback caps them away from many overpairs and strong Jx, while we still retain sets, two pairs, and strong draws, so our range has more credible nutted hands when we lead turn. **Sizing:** Solver prefers an overbet with this combo when betting (around 1.2–1.3× pot) and otherwise checks; a small or medium stab doesn’t apply enough pressure to their capped range and just gives good odds to their floats and underpairs. **Plan:** If we overbet, we set up strong turn/river polarization, allowing big barrels on good rivers; if we check, we keep a balanced check range and can bluff-catch or delayed-bluff depending on BU’s line. --- > **Takeaway:** When 3-bet pots check through on wet boards and villain’s range is capped, either bomb the turn with a polarized overbet or keep checking — don’t bleed EV with middling stabs.

Note: Betting is fine as a semi-bluff, but using a small/medium size instead of the preferred overbet wastes our range advantage versus a capped check-back range.
