Flop Analysis
Betting after being checked to is good: our range contains strong Qx and overpairs while the limp–call range is capped and has a lot of 7x, small pairs, and suited connectors that will struggle vs aggression. **Board:** The queen-high, semi-connected board with a diamond draw is better for our stronger, more top-heavy range than for a limp–call range, so we can apply pressure with underpairs and overcards alike. **Sizing:** Into 9BB, 5BB is on the larger side; a smaller stab (around one-third pot) will still fold out a lot of immediate equity (A-high without a draw, random undercards) while risking less when we run into slow-played Qx or better. **Plan:** When we get folds we realize our equity cleanly; when called, we can often check back turns on bad runouts and take our showdown, continuing to barrel only on especially good cards (like a 6 or certain overcards that improve our perceived range). --- > **Takeaway:** On queen-high boards where our range is much stronger than a limp–caller’s, bet frequently but prefer efficient small sizes with hands like 66.
