3-bet AA pre, lean on medium c-bets on dry boards, and once we flop trips aces, just value-bet big and call off the river jam.
Flop Analysis
Flop comes Jh 7d 5c rainbow—dry and not very connected. We’ve got an overpair with no draw, and our range is only slightly ahead of CO’s here. On this kind of board we want to lean on a medium c-bet, around half-pot, to start building a pot versus Jx, 7x, 5x, and weaker Ax. The 3.5BB bet is a bit too small and lets CO continue too cheaply with hands that are already behind us.
Note: Flop c-bet sizing is too small; a medium c-bet around half-pot is preferred on this dry, rainbow J‑high board.
Turn Analysis
Turn As is a dream card—our AA now becomes trips aces on a still-dry, rainbow board. CO checks again, and with SPR ~2 we’re in a great spot to extract value from Jx, 7x, 5x, and strong Ax. The 9BB bet is okay, but we can do better: a bigger value bet, roughly half-pot or a bit more, would really punish those hands and set up a nice river shove.
Note: Turn value bet is too small; a larger sizing (≈half-pot or a bit more) would extract more from Jx/7x/5x and strong Ax.
River Analysis
River 4d doesn’t change much—still no flush possible, and we’re still sitting on trips aces. CO now leads 81.5BB into 38.5BB, so we’re getting about 3.2:1 and need ~24% equity. Trips aces is way ahead of that, so calling off is mandatory. Jamming would just be overkill and folding would be a huge mistake; we’re happy to take the price and win the pot.
