Flop Analysis
Flop comes Qd Kd 3c multiway and we have top pair with a weak kicker and no diamond. Checking here is good – we’re out of position in a 3-way limped pot and donk-leading this kind of strong-but-not-nutted top pair is not necessary.
Playing Ks9s passively early then value-betting big on the river is fine, though a slightly smaller river size would be more efficient.

BU folds and MP fires 2.5 into 3.5, so we’re heads-up getting a good price with top pair. Versus a limper’s wide range this is a very clear call – raising tends to isolate us against better Kx, sets, and strong diamond draws when SPR is already shrinking.
Turn 9d gives us top two but completes the front-door diamond draw with SPR about 2. Checking is exactly what we want: we control the pot versus all flushes and still allow bluffs and thin value bets from Kx/Qx. MP checking back nicely caps their range away from a lot of strong flushes.
River 8h bricks the flush and only really adds JT as a new big hand, while villain’s turn check means they’re often on one pair. Betting for value with top two is correct; if anything we could shade the size down a bit (around half-pot) to keep all their weaker Kx/Qx more comfortable calling.
Note: River bet size is a little large for a limped pot versus a capped range; a smaller value bet likely earns similar calls with less risk when we run into flushes or JT.
