Defend pre, call flop, then lead small on the river to target BU’s weaker Tx and some 8x while blocking some natural bluffs.
Flop Analysis
Three-way on T86r with SPR ~2.9 and HJ’s stack behind. On this texture, HJ’s range is strong, but BU’s stab is often small pairs, draws, and some bluffs. With second pair and a decent kicker, calling is the right idea—folding gives up too much equity and 3-betting mostly runs into HJ’s strong hands. Checking our range is standard here.
Turn Analysis
Turn 4c is a low card that doesn’t change much; after BU checks, we can check and see what HJ does. If HJ bets, we can continue with our second pair, but if HJ checks, we don’t gain much by betting into two players and risk getting raised by HJ’s strong hands.
River Analysis
River pairs the T; HJ has more Tx than we do, and BU’s range is capped. Leading small for value targets BU’s weaker Tx and some 8x, while also blocking some of BU’s natural bluff candidates. This sizing also keeps the pot manageable versus HJ’s stack.
