We made a monster hand in a limped pot but our turn (and to a lesser extent flop/river) sizing left a lot of value behind against a very calling-heavy range.

Flop Analysis

On A66 with 6h2c in a limped pot we basically have the effective nuts (only AA beats us, which almost never limps). Betting is mandatory; overbetting 3 into 2.5 can work exploitatively vs a limp-happy player, but from a balanced perspective we usually want a more normal size (60–120% pot) so our range isn’t so face‑up.

Note: Flop overbet with the top of range is okay exploitatively but a bit too big for a standard strategy and may fold out too much junk in a limp pot.

Turn Analysis

Turn 4c changes little; SB’s call of the flop overbet means they’re very Ax/6x/4x/club-draw dense and should continue versus big bets. Betting only 1 into 8.5 after overbetting flop is a huge downshift and misses a lot of value when their range is inelastic.

Note: The 1BB turn bet into 8.5BB after getting called on an A66 flop is far too small; we’re massively ahead of a sticky, Ax-heavy range and should be betting big again.

River Analysis

River Kd is a good card – improves some of SB’s range to AK/Kx and doesn’t beat us. After tiny turn sizing, 4 into 10.5 is again on the small side; we likely get paid by Ax/Kx and stubborn 4x with a larger bet, even up to around 2/3–pot or more.

Note: River sizing is a bit too conservative given how strong our hand is versus a limp/call range that showed willingness to continue on A66.
