Flop Analysis
On 9s Jh 5d three-way in a limped pot, checking is the norm. Our hand has only a gutshot and some backdoor potential, and multiway we need to be more selective with bluff leads. Letting ranges clarify on later streets is fine here.
Playing the straight aggressively is right, but the 11x pot turn bet is way bigger than optimal in a limped multiway pot.

Turn 6c gives us a 9-high straight in a 3BB pot with stacks still ~100BB behind. Leading is very good after flop checks through; BB range connects with this card more than the others. But firing 34.5BB into 3BB is an 11x pot overbet multiway, which is far outside normal sizing strategy and risks folding out too much of BU’s continuing range while bloating the pot vs better straights and slowplayed strong hands.
Note: Turn bet size is far too big for this spot; a more conventional overbet (around 1–2x pot) or even a smaller value bet prints without over-polarizing.
Once BU calls the huge turn bet, the river 7d leaves us with a strong straight in a pot where SPR is under 1 heads-up. At this point we should play for stacks with our value hands and bluffs, so the near-shove for value is consistent with the line and puts max pressure on BU’s one-pair/two-pair/straight region. The river decision is solid given how we sized the turn.
