Flop Analysis
KQ5 with two spades is very favorable to CO’s opening range, so we check our entire range. With a flush draw plus some overcard equity, we’re happy to see a bet and continue.
Defend pre, check-call flop, then check down river with missed draw rather than bluffing.

CO bets 3.5 into 5.5, we’re getting about 2.6:1 and need roughly 28% equity; with a flush draw plus some overcard equity, calling is reasonable. The solver actually prefers folding this combo heads-up, but in practice we defend more often.
Note: Calling flop with 43s is slightly too loose; the combo is near the bottom of our defend range and performs poorly versus CO’s strong c-bet range.
Turn 2h is a total brick for both ranges; checking again keeps our range protected and avoids facing a barrel on a card that doesn’t help us. CO’s check back is a good sign for our draw.
River 8d bricks the flush and our hand is now just high card; theory likes a mix of small and big bets here to pressure one-pair hands and random floats. Checking is still acceptable, but we miss a profitable bluffing spot.
